we make a professional RIP that supports the 3000
we chose it because of its low cost to operate, it's large size possible media from 8.5 x 11 thru 16.5 x 23 (all in inches)

Plus you can buy a option that allows you to use banner paper too.

The 3000 actually produces better results than the 5000.

You may find the Birmy and Epson RIPs lacking unless you are only printing composite (i.e. non separated) files.

Our clients are very happy with their 3000s as proofers.

I absolutely, positively agree with macspectrum on this one.

The 3000 dye-based is a superior proofer to the 2200 pigment-based.

RIPs are much better too.
