It seems Eminem is suing Apple for selling his songs on iTunes, claiming Universal had no right to give Apple licensing.

Am I the only one who finds it completely off base to sue Apple? Apple had the rights from Universal. Eminem claims Universal didn't have the right to sell. Therefore, shouldn't Eminem be suing Universal?

... I was thinking the same thing...
Yeah but its not sexy to sue Universal. The "in thing" right now is to sue Apple because Apple is the media darling. Eminem wouldn't get half the coverage he is getting now if he was just suing Universal.

Methinks Eminem is stirring up new controversey in anticipation of a new album he's releasing even though he said he's done with recording and is just focussing on producing. Hey my sentence kinda rhymes.
it's so "gangsta" to sue!

Am I the only one who finds it odd that people rap about killing, stealing and being bad ass and then when an innocent teenager downloads there song from there suburban home, they turn to a lawsuit?

I believe these "rappers" put forth such a tough persona, but to me they all seem like low life opportunists who don't know what what image portray in order recieve money for there cocain addiction.

Which reminds me of Metallica, they started off as an underground band who asked all its fans to record and "bootleg" concerts in order to get the word out about them. They also stated that they'd never make a music video! Like how can a band like Metallica go from one extreme to the other? Therefore I did lose a lot of respect if I had any left for that band.
I like FSJ's take on this. Pretty much nails it.

Cheers
is that really steve jobs that posts, or someone pretending to be him?

Actually, I think Eminem would be perfectly legitimate in suing Apple, as the ones selling the music. If Universal didn't own the rights, Apple could then sue Universal on those grounds... but Eminem can't sue Universal over a business deal between Universal and Apple, can they?
