Is it just me???

Whenever I attempt, or at least during my first sessions at the site, attempts to load the pop-up "smiles" or emojis, it takes a good 30 seconds before a pop-up box shows asking if I want to quit or carry on waiting. I usually say to wait and within another 10 seconds, the pop-up Smiles sheet finally shows.

I experience no such delay at other forums using the same software, and it never used to take so long so I don't know what happened at the server end here but it sure is an annoying slow delay.

Hopefully maybe one of the admins could look into it and hopefully fix it. I don't think it's anything at my end. 😏

Thanks.

Sorry to say, but I am 99% sure it is your end. The emojis and smiles are only a few KB of data so there should not be any bottlenecks on our end related to these. Assuming all the other features of the forum are acting normal, it would point to something on your device that is causing this to error out.

Do you have any adblockers or other extensions running on your browser? Adblockers frequently conflict with our software and could cause a variety of errors.

I'll have a look when I have a chance, but there is no such delay at other sites using the same Forum software.

It's also a fairly new thing that started several months ago and I can't think of anything that has being ended to my Mac during that time.

Anyway not the end of the world and I was just curious why the delay at this site.

Thanks for the reply.

I don’t see a delay when loading the page from my Mac in Firefox or Chrome.
I guess tt's the version of chrome that I am usin that adds the delay to get it to the Wet Coast.
😏
No such delay when using Firefox, which I had not noticed before. I thought you were about the same with their delay. But not today.

So definitely something at my end causing the problem in Google Chrome It seems.

Anyway thanks for checking.
