Can this be done? Install TWO DVD burners in a PowerMac Quicksilver tower?

I want to be able to make copies of DVDs (i.e., speed up the process by two). Would I have to run two copies of Toast to do this though?

Ideas?

Thanks

a) no

b) use an external and yes 2 copies of toast will work BUT may result in errors as the drive may not keep up.

People have jammed a second optical drive into these Macs, but only by committing violent butchery on the internal frame of the computer. If you really need two optical drives, get an MDD G4 as suggested above.

The easiest way to get a speed-up would be to replace the existing optical drive with a new and speedier one. This is a no-brainer 5 minute screwdriver job. I have seen the Pioneer DVR-112D SuperDrive selling for around $40 here in the Vancouver area - I have one in my own eMac, (which was a much harder install than you would need to endure with the QuickSilver, by the way.)
