Display gone blank

This is the 2nd time now that my iPhone 14 Pro Plus has had its display gone blank and had to hit both volume buttons and side button to restart. Hoping it’s not hardware related. A real pain when the phone is needed. Anyone else having their iPhone 14 Pro Plus going dark like this?

I have an iPhone X. 16.2 iOS. 128g left. I’ve had problems for quite a bit where I get the black screen and tapping on the screen doesn’t wake it up. I have to tap a few times maybe or push different buttons to get to the home screen. I thought maybe since the phone was a bit older but your black screen problem sounds kind of familiar.

16.3.1 is out. I’m going to try that to see if it fixes it. What version of the iOS are you on?
I'm on 16.3.1 and I woke up to a black screen again this morning. Although, it must've been more than just a black screen because my alarm failed to go off. It must've been a complete lockup. I might try a complete new install or Restore before calling Apple. Hopefully that fixes it.
When something is wrong with video the first step is zap the pram. Shut down the computer, right after you push the power button to start back up hold down command-option-P-R keep holding till you hear the computer restart.
