This happens on occasion until a reboot. Right now, I've got a very small document icon (looks like a pdf) stuck on my MBP display. It's not clickable or anything...just a very small icon stuck in place. I've included a screenshot of it. Nothing serious, but I'm wondering why.

Does it disappear if you click and drag through it or open a small file or image over it to cause that part of the display to redraw itself???

Which model MBPro and age and what OS version??

Did it just start recently???

Edit:
To save rebooting, instead try:
- open Terminal and type

killall Dock

and then press enter.

The desktop should redraw itself and the icon should be gone.

It's hard to track a specific cause when it's happening so randomly.

Try doing a Shutdown, boot up using Safe Boot Mode and then just Restart normally.

That will purge a lot of surplus stuff and caches etc and maybe the cause itself.

Doesn't disappear on those moves. It started about a couple of months ago but is quite random.
I've got the mid-2015 13" MBP with the latest High Sierra (10.13.2).

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hmmm…??? I just noted this and probably doesn't have any bearing on the problem, but I was wondering if it was a Retina display model and then I noticed when doing a lookup, there's no mid-2015 13" MBP even listed as a model…???

Just wondering… ??? ;-)

And especially if there might be some connection with this:

But I think you have a different and intermittent problem???

When this "image" appears, does it disappear after you open a file over it or drag a window on tip of it which should cause the Desktop to redraw itself and then cause it disappear???

How randomly or frequently does it popup, and is it always in the same place??
