Disk Warrior & Leopard

I've been wanting to get a copy of Disk Warrior but with upcoming Leopard, of which I plan on adopting early on in, I would imagine any purchase now would be broken by Leopard. Question- bad idea to purchase now? It's not like I am desperately in need of it at the present moment, but I sure would like to have it around.

Never a bad idea to have *some* kind of disk utility in your toolbox but, you are rigt - DW will most likely "break" under Leopard. DW is pretty good at updating their software after a major release though.

Might be worth the effort to send them an email asking what their policy will be towards Leopard updates.
Good answer - check with the DW folks first - while it may not be broken, it may require a fix or a patch to work properly.
Good answer...
One does one's best. :)

Since most of us use DiskWarrior by booting from the CD, needing a patch equals broken. The advice to contact the DW folks directly is sound.
Current version of DW will work with Leopard. Probably not up to its potential standard, but it will work.

See above. Likewise, once a patch is released, it will allow you to burn a new CD of DW with the new version which you can then use accordingly.
Current version of DW will work with Leopard.
Don't take this the wrong way but, says who? I checked DW's web site and there doesn't seem to be a mention of that...

took them about a year to release a Universal Binary version
many emails to them went un-answered or "real soon now"

I don't know for sure, but I doubt Leopard is changing enough to break the current version of DW completely. When Tiger came out, DW didn't 'really' support that OS either at the time, but it could still repair it. (Had a few minor bugs.)
In dealing with the Directory, I would hesitate to use anything with "minor" bugs.
