are your mp3's housed somewhere different in 9 than X? i'm trying to figure out where they may be on a friends comp, but not finding them. he just switched to X, and wants to move them into his iTunes (4) library.

i hate to be simplistic, but search for filenames ending in ".mp3"
might help you find what you are looking for....

With iTunes 2, which is the OS 9 version it tends to keep them in the iTunes folder in the Documents folder on the root level by default. iTunes 4 (and 3) store the files in your user's music folder, but they can be changed in the preferences of both programs (2,3 and 4). Although that they can be changed, the play lists and libraries won't update each other though, so if you end up using both OSes, don't expect your iTunes list to be the same.
