so I killed my MacBook Pro by somehow frying the logic board. Apple would fix it for 500 dollars which doesn't make sense to dump such money on a 2009 laptop.
so, my question is, does anybody know how to replace a logic board for less?
OR..
If any DIY have a need or a use of a monitor, body that has no scratches, or any internal components, except for the hard drive that I will need.. please let me know.
preferably if you are in the GTA...

Actually that seems like a pretty reasonable price to replace the logic board in that MBPro that can be a bit of a PITA to do, and especially if the price includes labour, which I assume it does.

But getting close to the value of a working unit.

I know, I have been using it as a desktop ever since I got my iPad, which means I can get a refurbished Mac mini for same amount.. So I'm thinking 200-300 would be my max to fix, otherwise someone else my have a better use for it if they need mobility.

Those logic boards have the CPU on soldered in. So a replacement board/CPU is considerably more expensive.

Do you get any faint video onscreen when flashing a light on it ?

nope, nothing flickers.. i can hear the fan turns on and the power line have that green light.. other than that, nothing
