There's an article on Slashdot which talks about a local and remote root exploit in CUPS, the Common Unix Printing System. Since Mac OS X runs CUPS (by default, I might add), this affects Mac OS X. The remote exploit is only a problem if printer sharing enabled, but it can be exploited locally if CUPS is running period. Luckily, this bug is fixed in Mac OS X 10.2.3.
