I have a 2014 MacBook Pro and am looking at purchasing a used Apple Thunderbolt Monitor.

The monitor has three USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire 800 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port and a Thunderbolt port.
See full specs of monitor below:

The specs on my MacBook Pro are on the link below:

I am looking to make sure it will be compatible with my MacBook Pro.
Any advice on that I need to connect and how the monitor is powered would be appreciated.

Thunderbolt 1/2 should be fine given the proper cable. I'm using two of those monitors at work with 2017 MacBook Pro and a Thunderbolt 2 to 3 dongle without any issues.

Monitor has a combo plug, one for power from an outlet and to provide power to a MacBook via MagSafe.

I find they throw off a lot of heat, other than that they are great.

Thanks polywog..
From what I have researched it seems the 2014 MBP has a Thunderbolt 2 port and so does the Thunderbolt Display. The power cord on my MBP is a Magesafe 2 so looks like if I get a Magsafe 2 to Magesafe Adapter I can then connect display cord to the MBP.

The ones I got for work had an adapter, but they weren't new out of the box for me. Possible that the MagSafe adapter is included. Might be worth asking before ordering one.
