To me, this story suggests that the models will be nothing more than the ill-conceived NetMD player with an add-on flash card for added storage. The Sony MD is an example of what can happen when you take a great idea and then let the lawyers have their way with it. Now, it seems more like a tool from the past, designed to protect obsolete intellectual and copyright laws. Sales will be the ultimate arbiter, and I suspect that they will be underwhelming, at best.
