Apple cannot have ENOUGH of a retail presence. This stunt does NOT help. When talking to PC users about switching, they often wonder where the stores are that you can SEE not only Apple hardware but a decent shelf or two of Mac compatible software. Even though I know where to find these, they are way too rare to assuage any concerns The Masses may have and it only makes "our mission" that much more difficult.
Apple does stuff like this all the time. The undercut re-sellers at every corner, and then they complain when sales at the re-sellers drop (Hmmm, could it be because YOU ARE SELLING STUFF TO CONSUMERS CHEAPER THAN TO YOUR RE-SELLERS).
Apple is just like M$, they are out to make money and they don't care who they squash on the way (Like opening their own retail stores in areas that already have re-sellers).
Sometimes Apple makes me so mad I want to spit
DAMN, don't spit into the wind.
