Should I be posting this here? Just a query, but in case I'm getting a 2nd hand unit w/ warranty remaining, can the seller not call apple to make the change of ownership? My last seller did it for me and I got the notification letter in the mail. Anyone know the #?

I was told by Apple that they wanted the transfer in writing.

You don't really have to notify Apple but if you do have a warranty problem they might contact the "real" owner for verification that you bought the unit. At that time, they may want the transfer info in writing which could hold up your service transaction.

Thanks dudes...

So a written letter from the owner stating that he has sold me his unit will be enough, correct?? Will get on that.

Thanks of the # mayor. ;)
