Canadian vs. American Football

Yesterday one of my friends brought a Canadian Football to school and we played with it a bit. I had never used a Canadian football before, but I found it much nicer than playing with an American foot ball.

I always found it easier to throw for some reason.
If you really want a fun game of football, try the Nerf Vortex

No skill required to throw, it whistles as it flies through the air, and doesn't hurt if you catch it with the side of your head.
Now, if we could do something about those California "Angles" ...
Quit being obtuse. ;)
except for the presence of white stripes, the balls for American and Canadian football have nearly identical specifications and may actually be the same ball.

Yep, pretty much:

While the tolerances of Canadian and American footballs are slightly different, the same ball can fall within the tolerances of each. Canadian Football League rules specify that the long circumference of the ball should be not less than 27¾ inches (705 mm) nor greater than 28¼ inches (718 mm), while the short axis should be no less than 20? inches (530 mm) nor greater than 21? inches (537 mm). The dimensions of the official National Football League and National Collegiate Athletic Association football are specified by its manufacturer as: short circumference: 20¾ to 21¼ inches (527 to 540 mm), long circumference 27¾ to 28½ inches (705 to 724 mm).
For me it has always been easier to throw an American football :S

it should be noted that you are discussing the "new" CFL ball
the older J5V was much "pudgier"

the CFL ball punts better
the CFL was re worked about 10 years ago to make it easier to throw, especially with all those American QBs
I always knew that there were a lot of similarities between Americans & Canadians, but it never crossed my mind that our balls are slightly different.

I'm continually impressed with the various tidbits I pick up around here.

:D
Didn't the CFL run an "Our Balls Are Bigger" campaign a few years back?
