Blu Ray DVDs

I just noticed today at my local movie shop that they have a new section of Blu Ray DVDs available.

I wonder what the difference is between these and the regular DVDs. Can I play them on my regular DVD player?

It was a sad day when Google stopped working...
... any quality differences? Is Blue Ray better/worse than the 'regular'
state of the art DVDs - or just different?

They are high definition (HD), which means sharper images, brighter colours, etc etc. You will only notice a difference if you have a good, large HD TV. Thats the Cole's notes version.

Ah, yes. Thanks.

Red camera?
Red camera is not available yet, and will be a 2K and 4K system, which is higher definition than High Def is now. Not that we really need any higher definition haha.

RED Digital Cinema
Thanks!

I'm learning the ropes. Lots to learn for this grayhead.

I appreciate your info.

... are you sure about Red camera not being available?
I have been led to believe there are Beta testing cams
being evaluated presently in Red camera - many, in fact.
They are in Beta stage, but they are not yet available to purchase, and they are not in use for anything.
