Does anyone remember how to differentiate the Rev As from Rev Bs on the beige G3/233? I used to know, but I forgot.

Fire up System Profiler... If the version of the ROM is:

$77D.40F2 -> Rev 1
$77D.45F1 -> Rev 2
$77D.45F2 -> Rev 3

Or... look at the ATI chip on the logic board. If it says "ATI Rage II+', then the logic board is Rev 1, if it says "ATI RagePro" then it's a version 2 logic board.

Hope that Helps...

Not so straight forward as the ROMs are interchangeable on the beige.
Only safe way - plug in a dual port ata cable and try two drives.
They show it's a B or C - no show it's an A

mmmmm - has more options - if that = better then so be it.
You can add a second drive to the ata bus on Rev b and c.

The Rage Pro chip is a bit faster

Minor stuff - not fundamental like a REV A Blue :(

Well that's good to know, I've been meaning to get a second hard drive for my Beige and have never known whether it could have a second drive or not, Thanks for the info.
