I noticed that my QT v6.4 won't play .avi movies or files and instead gives me a "Missing required file or extension, could not be found on Quicktime server" - so, do you need the PRO version to use .avi files with Quicktime? Windows Media Player gives me a "Invalid file format" error and quits. What application plays .AVI's!?!

Hmm... VLC opened the file, but when I played the movie clip, it jammed and then an error came up and said "5-second film delay; your computer may be too slow." - meh? That does not help! ;)

If you install Divx don't install 3ivx they conflict with each other sometimes and may cause some problems.

I tend to use 3ivx and Divx Doctor (a program that fixes audio problems in some AVI files) 99% I have no problems.

I'll check out 3ivx and see how that works as well. I think I now have just about every decent player for the Mac installed. ;)
