I use a Marantz RC2000 Mark II. Easy to program (think beaming data to a Palm), backlit and easy to read text. Sucks the batteries though. Keep in mind too that this thing is almost 10 years old. There's probably an newer version.
Depending on your definition of easy to program the Pronto's come to mind as they have the largest LCD screens. The pronto's are essentially what replaced the MKII from the previous post and Marantz still sells a Pronto clone...though they're more money. The Logitech Harmony's are very popular as well and are much easier to program by the end user...though in some ways aren't as flexible as the pronto's are. I've been programming the pronto's since they first came out so I'm very familar with those if you need help.
