Audio input cards for Mac Pro?

Considering that your needs appear to be rather basic, could you not simply get an adapter and use the 3.5mm input jack on the Mac Pro?

I don't have much experience with audio input cards, but unless you're looking for multi-channel, it may not be required.

I'm not aware of any MacPro compatible *internal* audio cards on the market until you get into the professional studio range of pricing.

those adapters are dirt cheap from monoprice.com... although shipping will jack up the price.

If you're in the market for other cables it's good to place an order for a few things at once.

Monoprice is actually down right now (has been for a week). They had a hack happen and supposedly a lot of customer CC and debit card info was lost. They took the site down to investigate and haven't put it back up yet. Lots of people are not too happy about this as Monoprice haven't sent out notices to people telling them of the potential for a loss of their CC info, etc :/ Can't say I was happy to find out about it either, but haven't seen anything suspicious on the card I use for online purchases yet

That said if/when they come back up they are a great source for that kind of stuff and if you use the US Post option for shipping it's really inexpensive and orders < $20 you don't have to pay taxes, duties, or brokerage. Of course the US post option is also incredibly slow. One order I did took almost 35 days to arrive.

Actually, you may get even luckier with the Post option. I ordered over 130$US of gear from monoprice 2 weeks ago, including 3 monitor arms, and everything arrived toady, no taxes, no duty, no brokerage fees. They also have some hard to find stuff like a mini-displayport to regular displayport cable, and all dirt cheap.
