There was a thread a while back covering off potential problems with RAM which we run into everyday.
" It's the RAM"..seems to be heard all to often around MacDoc lately.

Need more proof

Now THIS is interesting! I wonder if a bad stick of RAM was the culprit in all of my Jaguar troubles? I recall my local reseller (ReStart in Victoria) saying that they had dropped all of their RAM except for Kingston because they'd had so many bad modules.

Hmmmmm.....

So if one was looking to buy a new mac from Apple, it would probably be worth it to just pay Apple's ram prices even if it will cost you $100 more?

$100 is almost worth the peace of mind anyway...

I think good quality memory (say, Kingston) with a lifetime warranty is probably good enough. No need to pay Apple's prices.

I'm not trying to diss Apple; their online business makes money on "extras" like everybody else. Dell charges a fool's ransom for memory as well. (I just had a friend buy a laptop from Dell Canada-$110 plus PST/GST for shipping, and that was 5-8 day delivery from Toronto. For a LAPTOP! I have sent 40 Kg boxes from Sask to Nova Scotia, $2500 insurance, 2-day guaranteed for $90).
