Many years ago in a former life, I was in charge of basic computer maintenance are operation. We had Apple IIe"s, Apple GSs, and Mac Classic/Color Classics, Mac SE, Mac LCI, II,III's, and so on.

Over a short period of time our early Macs started to have problems. The problem was that the internal batteries started to fail. On inspection, I discovered that the batteries were soldered in. I could not replace them unlike future models. We had to get First Avenue to replace the batteries for us.

Well, I see that there is a law suit taking Apple to task for their batteries in the new iPhones.

I found this on Apple Insider.
