Does anyone know the original 2005 Canadian price of the iMac G5s with the built in iSights (17 inch and 20 inch) by any chance? I know it's an oddball question, but if anyone knows, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

P.S. even the price of just one monitor size would help

It was $1449 or so for a 17" with student discount. I remember it came to around $1700 something.

So without the discount maybe $1649?

But does the US release price always correspond to the Canadian? I'm thinking of the difference in currency and market that has transpired since this release, for example.

Yea the original Core Duo Intels were the same price as the outgoing G5s which was a feat -- 2-3x the horse power, same price.

With the Core 2 Duos they did the massive price drops.

Hold yer horses buddy. Don't count on it. The redesign is probably to keep the profit margins up. The iMac is probably finally seeing a slip in sales.

I could see a new iMac 20-inch at the 17-inch price point with 2GBs of Ram. No LED screen of course.

Yeah, but at the higher 17" Price Point... I'd say 20" at minimum $1399. Maybe $1499 even -- it's $1699 MSRP right now.

No way in hell SJ's gonna let a 20"er aluminum resdesign fly out the door for $1099 As much as everyone would love it, and all the Mac-Haters would stop bitching about price (and then find something else to bitch about... non-upgradability?)
