I recently went to Rochester, NY and noticed that the 3G no longer was active when I crossed the border.
I am pretty sure rogers had said something about using Data in the states and that it is possible.
if anyone has more information about how i can activate 3G in the states using rogers and if there is a add on to my plan or something it would be great if you could provide me with details and such.
thanks.
SHEMM
AS i am also going back to the states on Saturday, so I would love to hear if i can make this active before i leave on saturday

3G should work, you may have just had Data Roaming turned off (which it is by default). Go to Settings - General - Network and you can flip Data Roaming on. You should definitely give Rogers a call and find out about rates and/or plans to add on because Data Roaming on it's own will cost you a fortune!

using data outside canada is VERY expensive... with data roaming off it won't use data outside your existing service plan. you can still use wi-fi anywhere though...

Fido allows you to pay $10 to pay $1/MB instead of the standard $6/MB. Rogers might have a similar offer. Either way, roam sparingly and use WiFi when at all possible.
