I want to hook up my Mac to my stereo. one of the options i'm looking at is the Xitel Pro Hi-Fi Link. it plugs into the USB port on your mac and then has L+R RCA jacks to plug into your amp. it also has a digital out for surround sound processors. its rougly $130/CDN give or take a few $$$. anyway, just wondering if anyone has any feedback on this unit or any other recommendations that they may have. and if it makes any difference i'm using a Quicksilver 933 on OS X.2.8

thanks for any and all help/info.

ciao.

You'll be converting a digital signal to a analogue signal
. No point imo, unless you have a digital input in your reciever to take advantage of the input jack. I would just stick with regular rca cables. It'll probably save you a $100.
