Need more info.

If you're in OS 9, check your Control Panels under the Apple, make sure you've got the correct keyboard layout selected.

Sorry, I can't help if you're using OS X. I've only recently begun the migration.

Likely you've set your keyboard to Dvorak. Which if you knew would be a big improvement in your typing speed.
ALL kids should start with Dvorak layouts so eventually we could do away with qwerty

No my kyeboard is fine ;)

I wish... Problem seems to be getting better. Only two-letter garbles now. a=sa s=sa b=bn n=bn My son may have got something in the keyboard, like eraser rubbings. What is a good way to clean it? Forced air?

That sounds like the old prank "Mitten Hands". It basically pretends you are trying to type with mittens on. If you are using MacOS 9 or earlier, look in your extensions (or control panels) folder for something called Mitten Hands.
