Airport troubles since 10.4.10
Ever since the 10.4.10 update i have been having trouble with airport. Every once in a while airport goes out on me, almost like it freezes. If I click the signal bars on the right side of the menu then it works again. This has proven to be a big pain in the ass when using instant messaging or skype.
Any ideas of how to fix this w/o backing everything up, re-installing OS X, and then only updating to 10.4.9 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have resolved this issue previously with an archive & install, but I would also recommend trying to reinstall the 10.4.10 combo update (as opposed to the slimmed down updaters that are provided by Software Update), since that is a much less drastic fix. You can get this at:

Thanx for the advice of the combo update but unfortunately I tried it and it didn't fix the problem.
From an article I read on the Apple support forum, some of these issues are resolved when installing the recent Audio update.
I know it doesn't really make much sense, but it seems to have improved my friend's MBP 2.0 CoreDuo.
