I just got an Airport Extreme Base Station today. I bought a wireless N one used off eBay, and I must say that I love it! Setting it up wirelessly via my Macbook was a breeze, and it seems to play nice in bridge mode connected to my Linksys Vonage router. Best part: my internet is WAAAAAYY faster than it was when I was connecting through my old DLink wireless access point.
Later tonight or tomorrow I will try connecting my USB HD to it. Hopefully it will go smoothly.
So if anyone out there is looking for a new wireless base station, don't hesitate to pick up the Airport extreme. It's well worth it!
oh oh. be careful with answering, depending on how old your dlink was, you may or may not be in for a real tongue lashing something about the internet couldn't possibly faster than a g spec.
I bought it off eBay early in 2006, only because it played nice with my old Windows lappy. However, I think it's at least 5-6 years old, as DLink hasn't released firmware for it since 2002.
Yes, tis old.
The main reason I got a new router was because I couldn't use WPA with the DLink. There was an option to set it up, but it just wouldn't work.
