Here's the deal... why would I want an 802.11g Hub? I mean for tranfer between computers at 57mbs is cool and all but... my cable modem can't even come close to the speed of 802.11b let alone 802.11g... why should I get an 802.11g hub?

Now my PB G4 12" only take Airport Extreme (802.11g) since b and g work together (albeit slower than g) I could get the g hub, but I'm sharing files on a local network (well not large files).

Help me out... what am I missing?

matter for your case, 'g' is the way to go (latest & greatest), however....
the range is more limited to 'b' even with the antenna, there is also a common problem of 'frying' the circuit board which deam the 'g base station' more difficult or not able to be repaired. 'b' is plenty enough for surfing over cable or dsl. i am very happy with 'b'. better yet it is much cheaper.
the following guys are wonderful, look.
