Hello all.
Anything new in the world of accounting apps for Macs?
I’ve been using Liquid Ledger for awhile but it’s now real buggy and I can’t find a way to update it to make it happy with Mojave. Modeless Software is developper but I already have a newer version(2.4.1) that what they offer on their site.
I mainly use it to keep track of expenses and revenues and produce nice reports for a charitable organization I’m part of.
Thanks.

Hi David, I have been using a very old version of Money Works basic. For the most part I have been happy with it.
Not much out there for Macs.

That's not too surprising considering Liquid Ledger.app hasn't even been updated since Aug 2011!!! ;-)

The MoneyDance apps have a good Mac reputation but rather on the expensive side IMHO!
MoneyWorks Gold

Maybe have a look here for any that may do what you want:

Or what about Apple's Numbers.app that's normally included with most Macs.

There may even be some custom modules one could use with it that would work for you.

I remember threads on this from 10 or so years ago. It was generally agreed then that the Mac side of the ledger was embarrassingly weak when it came to accounting and I am pretty sure that has not changed, at least not for the better.

Hello all. Thanks. Please excuse long pause in carrying on discussion.
I’m a bit scared now of old versions. Money Works Gold is indeed expensive. Money Works cash is free for a subscription and looks like it will do what I need. As does GnuCash. Keeping track of grants and producing pretty reports.
I’m not comfortable with Numbers beyond the very basics really although that option is the cheapest and probably the most dependable. AccountEdge looks like a bit more than what I need i.e. learning curve considerations.
Thanks all again.

I did. And chose MoneyWorks Cash a simplified - can't send invoices and payments or do inventory control - version of Gold and free for a subscription.
It has a very clear and witty tutorial and a good manual, also funny from time to time.
Easy to use, you can erase parts of an entry without having that show up in the journal, has an editable template of accounts and can produce good reports.
I like it. Thanks. Don't remember if it showed up in the list on macUpdate but it did get it thank you for it.
