So thats what you get for using a Mac?!?
Well a PC, try 45 minutes if all goes well... Thats if you're lucky enough that the drivers behave...

Congrats Woz and even Jobs and other boys and girls at Apple. It's little things like this that keep my main computer a Macintosh.

Whenever I go to install hardware on an existing Windows station, especially one I did not originally setup, I always grit my teeth and all estimates given to clients are only 'estimates.'

Lord knows I have had some real battles with those machines.

Not that Macs are perfect, but my little example would be difficult to duplicate on a Windows XP machine running dBase III and a 2 (if not 3) year old label printer.

BTW - what is even better is that no manuals were used in the setting up of this little label printer.

As I understand it, most Windows set-ups come with instructions just for unpacking the computer and it's parts...

Now *THAT* is needlessly complex...

I once accidentally double-clicked the Font D/A Mover utility on my G4.

It's a part of System 6 (and earlier) and was made obsolete by System 7. I was poking through archived files, some of which were made on a Mac Plus (beige, 1986 model originally running System v1.1).

It launched and ran under Classic 9.2 on my OSX Mac. Now that's backward compatibility for you, folks!
