Hello all

The wireless keyboard of my wife's 2014 iMac is misbehaving.

For a while now, it has seemed to be going through (rechargeable 2300mAhr) batteries faster than in the past.
Today replaced with fully charged ones. Properly installed. Clean contacts. (Can't clean the contact in the bottom of the battery compartment.) Keyboard will not turn on. On/off switch feels correct.

I have searched the site but really only discovered that logitech provides a good replacement. I'm not committed to wireless.

Any other troubleshooting I can do before we get another one?

I have virtually no experience with Apple's wireless keyboards, as I have always used and prefer the wired USB versions.

As Apple no longer sells the extended wired USB keyboards, if that is your preferred choice, rather than going new, try searching your local used(city name).com and/or Facebook Marketplace site, they usually have several available at a very good price.
