Did anyone purchase one of these that came with 10.1? If so did you upgrade to 10.2 and are you still running 10.1 on a separate partition. Mine came with 10.2 installed and doesn't seem able to run 10.1. Please contact [email protected] if you have any information.
Thanks.

Every 17" iMac I have set up thus far has had 10.1 installed and 10.2 upgrade disks in the box. So they run 10.1 and .2 fine.

Why would you want to go back anyway?

That's very interesting. I don't want to go back. Just want to be able to run 10.1 and 10.2 on seperate partitions to be able to support and troubleshoot for customers with 10.1. The new 17" iMacs only ship with 10.2 and I've tried to install 10.1 with no luck. A specialist at Apple had indicated that perhaps Apple has modified the ROM on the new 17" iMacs so they only run 10.2. Was it version 10.1.5 that was included?

I believe that it was 10.1.5 installed. It is very possible that the ROM has been modified, but to what end I wonder?

The ROM modification may be a little peek of what will be happening in January when the new Macs won't even boot into OS 9. I also need to install Mac OS X Server 10.1.5 so its causing me major problems and I can also not recommend the machine to clients that don't want to move to 10.2 until it has been out awhile and most of the bugs have been fixed. I'm just curious if anyone that purchased the original System with 10.1.5 installed is also running a partition with 10.2?

hello. my name is birdie. I'm new to ehmac here. i have some good info for u. if you want to know how i got info, just know that a little birdie told u!

apple canada a couple of weeks ago did have a good deal on memory. you could double your memory for $64. they took it off their web site because a lot of mac dealers in canada did not like it because they could not compete with selling a 512 mb chip in dual 1.25 for $64. so yeah, now they are back to selling memory 4x what its worth.

a birdie told you.
