10.8 or 10.9 User Guide

So I jumped to Tom Cruise aka Mavericks this weekend. It's been a touch of a blessing so far. My lap was acting up of late and I wasn't sure why, although I knew it was OS related. Did a reinstall of .6.8 but it didn't help. I always thought an update was only going to give me new features but carry over old issues, but none of that so far.

So, I made a .6.8 to .9 jump and I feel like I'm on a brand new machine. Looking around to see if Apple have a free user guide as they do w/ the iPhones, but seems like not. Though I was used to buying OS books back in the day, but since Apple seems to have a recent change in heart / strategy w/ free s/w... ;)

Anyone out there have a good resource / doc to recommend for learning .8 or .9 inside out?? I know fiddling around will get me there, but I've always enjoyed a good solid read of a book to get me started.

Thx a mil.

perhaps you could ask your questions around here?

I think OSX is kinda like windows.. You don't just read a guide and know your way in and out.

Hey, to an old timer the definitive Maverick was and always has been James Garner!

Anyhow if you want a really good manual for the Mac OSX 10.9 operating system, look in the TidBits web site:

I've been on OSX for a long time, but I chose to skip both 7 and 8. And the jump from Snow Leopard is full of changes. And as I much as I can play around non stop, I've always respected the idea of having a book for reference. I just recall getting one in early 2000s for OSX and use many short cuts to this day that surprisingly many ppl don't. Just trying to b as efficient as can be.

Don't want to burden the boards w/ small questions about something most went through a few yrs back, but thx!

I'm very fam w/ Lynda. I still think a book would be quicker reference in this case. I'll keep looking.
