Got it. So far so good.

Strange, because after I had the trouble with the iPod synching, I then experienced a kernal panic, and then I rebooted using the power key, only to find yet another kernap panic... that was the last of them, and now my iPod has been working fine I'm pleased to report... but KERNAL PANICS?! hmmmm
Downloaded and installed 10.2.5
Seems to have fixed a bunch of problems I had with 10.2.4. My dual gig has timewarped from 1969 and I don't seem to loose my button functions on my Logitech mouse anymore that used to require me to unplug it and then plug it in again.

I had one issue so far, where after Update installation and subsequent first reboot, Apps launched would 'Not Respond'. They're launched, but not 'user-accessible'. Context-clicking on the Dock Icon showed a greyed-out 'Application Not Responding' item in the menu. I had to Force-quit six Apps (Safari, Viewer, Mail, iTunes, iChat, iCal) before I decided to unplug one USB device at a time to trouble-shoot it. I started with my Belkin Bluetooth Dongle, disconnected it, rebooted, and the reboot ('Happy Mac screen') took like 5 minutes! But, it did finally boot, and all is fine now. I reconnected my BT Belkin dongle, and all is fine still. I've read some little reports here and there where people have been having issues with some USB devices, drivers specifically.

Updated my 12-inch AlPB.
XBench scores virtually the same.
After the update, when I unplugged while asleep, and then woke up, reduced processor speed was not enabled. (Also, strangely, it reported almost 6 hours left on the battery)
EDIT: I think this happened briefly after the 10.2.4 update as well. Fiddling with the energy settings seems to have resolved this.
I now seem to be able to get a lower amount of current being used by the battery - perhaps the life will be a bit better, although it was already great.
Also waking from sleep with external monitor attached, by plugging in a mouse, the display resolution is forgotten sometimes.
Lately (before the update) my main keyboard layout has not been disappearing from the menu item - the disappearing act was introduced in 10.2.4 - don't know if it fixed itself - the only thing I'll be able to tell is if it still exists in 10.2.5 or not - so far it hasn't happened. UPDATE: yes the problem is still there.
Cubase.net forums reported CPU spikes in record mode on a PowerMac, but nothing else so far. I have a few more things to try, but so far it looks like a safe update and maybe a little snappier.
