Hi folks, I'm having a peculiar problem with my MBP and wonder if anyone has insight into this. I don't know when it started... but I now experience a momentary display freeze every 2 seconds under the following circumstances:
1. External monitor connected
2. Quick Time Player launched
I've got a Mac Pro 4,1 and two Samsung 2243SWX monitors and every so often when the displays wake up from sleep, I get a coloured snow/static on the displays (like the snow on old TV sets when they don't have a signal).
These monitors don't have an HDMI input nor do they have any sort...

My macbook pro display cracked and I need to get it repaired. I took it to an apple store and was told the warranty is voided because there was physical damage.
They are quoting ~1000 to replace the display. An authorized mac repair store also gave me a similar quote.
