If one human life is sacred, then the logical extension is that all human life is sacred. The thing that puzzles the hell out of me is that, for the progressive left, no such logic exists. Ideology immediately takes over & logic, common dog fukc and the sanctity of human life go right out the window.

(In no particular order) Globull warming, abortion, gun control, socialism, renewable energy, electric cars, Islam, transgenderism, some of third & most of fourth wave feminism, among a plethora of others. Many of the thread titles on this board are a stark testament to the monumental failure of leftist groupthink.

And still they don't get it...

Compassion

We've separated them from their families & communities for various antisocial behaviours. We don't need to add cruelty to the list. If needle drugs are to be approved de facto, we need education & rehab programmes, too.

It was really cruel when tobacco was banned in prison. What about cannabis?

Any of us can take a wrong turn. You & I may not be able to fathom what made that addict stick a needle in his arm first time but he did. That does not make him/her garbage.

They've separated themselves from their communities and families by engaging in various antisocial behaviours. Important distinction. That naturally reduces their available choices.

But getting them off drugs hardly qualifies as cruel.

I think everyone should have the right to stick a needle in their arm, but they need to take responsibility for what happens next. I have nothing against them, but society can't support every bad choice that people make.
