I now use Mac VideoRipper Pro and it works great. On sale right now for half price, about $25.

I've lately won a free license for Mac X DVD Ripper Pro, but haven't tested it properly yet.

Good luck!

I was just reading about this app after following a link from a promo email I received and how many are so p'd off that they basically cribbed the name of the old software by adding and changing a few letters,
See here:
MacX DVD Ripper Pro
Quote:
I just don't understand why the developer was so galactically stupid as to name this product just one letter different to a well established and respected competing app - Mac DVDRipper Pro.
https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/42...dvd-ripper-pro

One has to wonder about such a company even if they did post a rather pathetic explanation at the same site.
That's for MacX DVD Ripper Pro NOT Mac DVDRipper Pro

EDIT:
PS The Mac DVDRipper Pro is available here:

Interesting point, Patrick! I wonder if Digiarty Software has not bought up Mac DVD Ripper Pro.
https://www.videoproc.com/

Anyhow, Digiarty is hard at work promoting itself, and seems to be operating out of mainland China.
https://www.owler.com/company/winxdvd

Of course mainland China holds a culturally different view on intellectual property...

On the other hand, who is really behind DVD Suki Software?

i"ll have some hacker friends look into this. The Internet is swiftly becoming a basket of snakes.
My Little Snitch is now on all the time!

Also interesting points and I don't think China even has any words or phrase for any "intellectual property" interpretation!!!

And some of the good old Mac software companies were/are just small home-based outfits or maybe with 20 or so programmers/developers with the little surplus money for luxuries like advertising or paying companies for graft type favors Etc.

Exactly. Do you still trust Softonic, MacUpdate, 9to5 Mac? Trusted friends of olden?

I for one do no longer, even if I use them still...

Nevertheless, I have Little Snitch
https://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html

and Malwarebytes Mac
https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-2634

standing by at all times!

Ditto.

And even if Little Snitch is probably the best AV and protection app available, I finally gave up and couldn't keep up with it and had to put it into "silent mode".

It is in "silent mode" here too.
But gives a pretty good idea which apps are calling out.
In my case: none.

I hate to define its rules too.

But one day, with slow WiFi: I caught outgoing connections mainly to Ukraine.
Thanks to the Little Snitch network monitor/ Map!

And if ever you get a chill: Malwarebytes Mac is there for you!

Good luck, Patrick!
