The problem with these is the bit rate. I don't remember off hand but if you google digital audio I think you'll find they are limited to 48bit I think. AFAIK most optical outs on Mac can manage...

I use a 17" LCD and a 19" CRT.

Best of both worlds but for graphics and your money the CRT is a better value.
