Panasonic DMR-E85H DVD Recorder with 120GB Hard Drive
This is a very sophisticated multifunction recorder, with multiple recording formats, including hard disk and extended time recording. The built-in 120GB hard drive lets you record up to 284 hours of video. Emails preferred to PMs. $235
And with a new TV Guide On Screen interface built right in, you can find exactly what you want and record it with one-touch ease: just select your program from TV Guide's seven-day listings, press a button, and that's it! All of this convenience comes with no monthly fee, and requires no phone line connection.
You can use the hard drive or erasable DVD-RAM discs for recording weekly shows, while saving "keeper" material to DVD-R discs. The Play List function lets you rearrange the sequence of video segments on the hard drive before recording to disc.
Time Slip playback lets you watch the beginning of a recorded program while the same show is finishing recording! You can also record one program while watching another that you've previously recorded. A handy control on the remote lets you search through recorded segments quickly and precisely.
I've seen it all, and I've done it all. I just can't remember any of it.
