Well, someone who actually knows the business....this is refreshing. I think people forget that you cannot build cars overnight. And, what I laugh at is that virtually all manufacturers have the "gas-guzzlers" in their inventory. In fact, GM has, as a percent of fleet, fewer suv and trucks than Nissan and Toy.

What has really hurt GM is an out of date business model in the U.S., it was unrealistic to have stand alone stores for Old, Pontiac, Buick....very low volume sales and models. This drove the model replication which was a barrier to their economies of scale....it was the giving up of their purchase power that did them in.....along with some out of date labour deal practices.
