Thanks for showing it to me, Dan; it looks like it just came out of the box — spotless machine. But I'm looking for one with the matte screen. Good luck.
Soon, I just bought a season pass of Luther from iTunes
I also downloaded the Season 3 episode 1 of Luther in HD,
Going to watch that and get back to that thread asap
The thing I hate the most with the classifieds here is when people go back and do what they did with this post (or otherwise when they go back and remove all the item and price info). This is now:
I hate to contribute to this thread (more), but... the way the reasoning above is going is wrong. And it's part of why the tumbleweeds are blowing through here, alone except for the dust and cobwebs.
Fwiw I don't think pointing out that there is a refurb for hundreds of dollars more (after taxes) is in any way helpful or relevant to the original post. Leave the negotiations to interested parties instead of trying to publicly shame them.
I never heard of these "rules" until this thread, but then I've never tried to sell anything on ehMac. I must with all due respect disagree with these rules because they are silly. If you're going to advertise something on a public forum, a place for discussion, then maybe you should be called out if your price is too high. If it's caveat emptor, or Buyer Beware, then Seller Beware is the logical extension of this. Advertise a fair asking price and you won't get negative feedback.
Absolutely agreed. This notion that sellers of overpriced goods ought to be coddled, so that they can peddle their overpriced wares to unsuspecting EhMac members is ludicrous.
I have often also seen posts of encouragement when a seller is offering a good product at a good price.
Posting a link to a computer from the refurb store that is hundreds of dollars more expensive as a "better option" and reasoning as to why the original asking price is "too expensive" is ridiculous.
I believe in haggling, Just don't believe in heckling.
It's a slippery slope when you have to use an example of a device being sold elsewhere
at a cheaper price, To me, That's like comparing a store to an individual,
Course the store will always sell it cheaper. (Depending on the store though)
I think you make a good point, Lawrence. There is a difference between commenting on a price and heckling the seller, and that line should not be crossed.
I think the classifieds should be just that---classifieds with no replies in the ad allowed, block them. PMs only and that's it...and no price policing in PMs either. Make an offer if interested, if not, move on...that's it.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
