In OS X, the number pad on my Apple Keyboard has stopped working and I can't figure out why, as its only the numbers (0-9) and the . that don't work, but the rest of the pad works. In OS 9, it works perfectly. Any suggestions, as I am at a total and complete loss.

Thx in advance.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one. Did you press the "num lock" key (beside the "=")?

The NumLock was irrelevant, on or off, it still does not work, it was one of the first things I tested. Thanks anyway Bjornbro.

Solved. It seems that Mouse Keys somehow got turned on, in the Universal Access Control Panel, and well... now that that is off it works. I've never been so happy.

Came across this and it reminded me of a problem only a week ago.

One of my family's Macs suddenly started to speak. The family member had no clue what that was and I received the panic phone call - sound like my Mac is possessed or did I catch the first Mac virus????

Well, here it was obvious what the problem was......sure enough, speech was turned on and turning it off resolved the issue.

I wonder if others have had similar experiences with a Universal Access feature turning itself on. This was on 10.4.11 on a Mini.
