Disk image is pretty much the dvd but on your mac. Which basically means u can put that on a dvd at a later time, instead of burning the same project over and over and over again.

you could try. This is first time me using iDVD and so ive never actually burned a disk before haha

I used the Disk Utility, created a "copy". The last set of burns went off without a hitch. Seemed a lot easier than doing through iDVD. My disk space is under 40 GB, though. Probably because I have to delete the 6 GB project and the footage from the movies in iMovie. That should get me back up to around 50 GB, where I was before all this craziness.
