I had a similar problem with a Dayna PCMCIA ethernet card. The driver on the Intel website just wouldn't work. Somehow I found this link to a Japanese website that had a driver that worked. I checked the site and they also have drivers for LC cards using Daynaport 7.7.2

Give it a try. Even though the site is Japanese it is not too hard to figure out. It also has the software I needed for the PCMCIA card on the same page (for anyone else that is looking for that one)
