G4 sawtooth KERNEL PANIC all of a sudden

Just like the title, I have a G4 sawtooth with a sonnet 1.2Ghz upgrade card, 1.5 GB ram running TIGER (all updateds)
Now lately all of a sudden I keep getting kernel panics...nothing has been changed, no upgrade hardware, the machine has been running fine for over 4 years no issues...now all of a sudden kernel panics.
the only thing that was recently done was hooking up a telephone line to the modem for faxing - that's it.
So when I try to boot from diskwarrior, using the system preference start up disk section nothing happens. I click on the diskwarrior disk and hit restart and NOTHING!
I even restart holding the C button down and NOTHING.
But when I have no issue booting from Tiger DVD.
Just wondering if anyone else has had Kernel panic issues lately.

Hard to say, but obviously it's not Tiger and it's not Disk Warrior (did it ever boot from the DW disc before? I assume it used to ...).

Take the telephone line out and see if things improve.

Yes is used to boot from Disk Warrior and I have taken out the phone line and shut off the automatic answer feature.

it's just weird that this is starting all of a sudden. After years of being problem free, these last two weeks there have been more kernel panics than I have had in 6 years!

Was thinking that one of the two drives might be on the the fritz but smart reporter says they're both working normally.

I had that exact problem with my Sawtooth.......unfortunately the news is not good.
Upgraded the 450 MHz Sawtooth with a OWC 1.4 GHz CPU upgrade several years ago. Everything ran fine for those years and suddenly, out of the blue, Kernel panics which I had never ever seen before.
After a lot of testing, it eventually turned out that the G4 upgrade CPU itself was the problem. Can't remember what tests OWC suggested, but they definitely pointed to the CPU.
I was lucky - the CPU had a three year warranty and the Kernel panics started a week before the warranty was up.
I shipped the CPU back to OWC, they replaced it with a new one under warranty - this was about six months ago. No problem since.
Talk to Sonnet - it may be the CPU. They should be able to tell you how to test it.

Thanks...I think I will. I think it's still might be under warranty.
