Angry Wireless router connect problem

I'm able to detect and connect to my wireless router with my laptop --- I get a full strength signal/ full bars BUT non of my apps are able to connect to the internet. Browsers, msn, anything internet related is unable to connect... but i've got full signal (so it says).

My desktop with a direct ethernet connection to the router works fine, and using a direct ethernet to the router with the laptop works fine.
Any ideas about what's going how and how to fix it? Thanks

Using:
- 10.3.9
- WPA-PSK

Hello,

Did you make sure that your System Preferences->Network settings were set to use your wireless card. Sometimes that can be a problem.

Another option would be to try and PING your laptop from your desktop, or connect from one to the other using the GO menu and connect to server. By doing this you can see if information is truly being passed back and forth between the machines.

How to solve any wireless router issue on a Mac in 10 minutes flat:

Reset the router
Run Airport Setup Assistant

Because the Assistant auto-detects settings, it's as simple as pie.
