Strange Powerbook LCD Behaviour

For the past week or so my 12.1", 1Ghz, 40G HD running Tiger 10.4.2 is acting oddly.

The screen suddenly goes completely black and I have to hit several keys at random on the keyboard to regain illumination of the backlight.

It still has 14 months Apple Care left. Should I be concerned or is it something caused by some program as it seems to work fine over 90% of the time?

could it possibly be that your PB is going to sleep because of not being used for a short period or that the screensaver may be coming on because youve hit a hot corner?

I think you are right. I just disabled the hot corners and so far, so good. Thanks andreww!

I had a time this past Spring when I returned to my Powerbook with a black screen. Couldn't bring it back except for a restart (power button and return). Never happened again.
