Thanks Adam, it does sound like FullScreenSafari will do what I want. My only problem with this solution is that I'm somewhat leery about installing APE on my system. I remember using it in Jag and very quickly getting rid of it because of instability and weird behaviour.
It was pointed out to me by friend that the Safari windows won't be offset, if the first window is opened to within 1/4 inch of the bottom of the screen. This seems to be true. The space that I had left at the bottom was a bit more than that before.
I have APE on my setup and it seems quite stable. I think the programers had to rework it because of the way Panther was changed vs. Jaguar and that made it less intrusive. Using it to mess with the dock here.
The reason I'm asking is because I've just implemented this functionality in taboo (www.ocdev.com - although I haven't released the new version yet), and was wondering what type of behaviour you would expect from this kind of plugin. Thanks,
Personally, ideally, I would like my windows to open all at the same size that I have set, and to open in the same position directly on top of each other, without being offset or cascading.
I think most windows open at a size that the user sets, but some special windows (and things like pop-ups) open at different sizes, some don't even have scroll bars or re-sizing handles on them. I don't know what I would expect for them, I guess in most cases those different windows have been designed like that for a reason.
So I guess I would expect the hack to open only the normal windows to my specifications.
