Boot CD / Partition expanding problems
Hey folks...
I've noticed that the drive of my 12" PB G4 is only formatted for 37.5 GB (it's supposed to be a 40 GB drive). So I've had a look at iPartition and VolumeWorks as they both claim that you can expand your partition without having to reformat. It looks like there is about 2-3 GB's of unpartitioned space
Now the problem is that both apps will not work from the same drive as the boot drive, so I've been trying to create a boot CD... but can't seem to get one that works.
I've tried the app BootCD, it looks like it creates a CD with a System folder however when I try to boot my PB from it I can't seem to get it to boot (no matter what I do it boots from the internal drive). I tried setting it to boot from the CD is the Startup Control Panel (no luck).
I've tried holding down the "c" key on boot. The "option" key on boot (The CD doesn't even show up). I've tried holding down the "shift-option-command-delete" key combo which supposed to bypass the internal drive.
I've tried booting from my Tiger install disks and that just wants to run the installer.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
